I've just released Citadel 1986 on the App Store. It's just $0.99 for the full version, and there's a free 'lite' edition should you want to try it out first.
Development went smoothly but the release was delayed for a few months by a bout of 'what-is-the-point', something a lot of developers must get when they realise there's over a billion apps on the App Store. After some reflection I've decided that's there's no point in not releasing it
So yeah, if you're reading this, click the cover image for the App Store links, try it out and let me know what you think
Citadel 1986 Released
I just uploaded the full version of Citadel 1986
At the moment there's just a PC version, but the Mac and Android versions will be made available soon and will be included with your original purchase.
You can try out the trial version for free, please let me know what you think.
Pixel Art Animatronics
A quick work in progress video, creating some pixel art monsters for Citadel 1986. I've not done this sort of thing since the Amiga days. It's nice not being restricted to 32 colors, although I do miss DPaint a little
Citadel 1986 Beta
I've just uploaded the beta version of my new game Citadel 1986, a retro platform game inspired by my favourite Commodore 64 games. It's suitable for all, although it may appeal more to retro gamers of a certain age
I've just uploaded my first Android games to Google Play, Mirror Mixup & Pyracubes. I'll be making more available soon, just going to wait a bit and make sure everything works.
Development wasn't too bad, it was like a cross between PC and iOS. Luckily there's an NDK which allowed me to use 99% of my engine/game code. Phew
Vampire Ventures On PC, Mac, iOS & Android
My new game Vampire Ventures is the first to be released on four platforms at the same time.
It's taken months of work, but the engine and games now share the same code across the four platforms, with only minor tweaks where necessary. Thank goodness for #ifdef's is all I can say
Although Vampire Ventures is the first game to take advantage of this new compatibility, technically all the games will benefit and so I'll be porting most of them across during the next year or two. So, let me know if you have a favourite game you'd like to see on your iOS or Android device.
Puppy Sanctuary has been released on the App Store
It's a universal app so you can play it on all your iOS devices for a single price, just $0.99 at launch. It's also free to try out, as are all the Clockwork Pixels games.
If you enjoy the game please use the single 'Full Version' IAP to unlock all the puppies, levels, items & locations, and don't forget to rate it or write a small review as it really helps with app store discovery.
