"This game is a definite buy right here. ArkLight is a rare treat that is beyond the simple description of words. Clockwork Pixels have ventured to bring gamers a crossbreed of genres that doesn't skip a beat."
"The three difficulty levels nicely match the different playing styles: Casual gamers can crash through on 'Easy', while the harder settings demand more tactical thinking ... A slick indie game that'll appeal to players who can balance their brains with their trigger fingers."
"Having played the 'sequel' first (DarkSide), ArkLight came to me as a shock! It's almost totally different. I loved the unique mix of a breakout and a shooter. But even while playing totally different, there's some familiar faces around here, like the ship, the smart bombs, the Krainian. Also really good was how you can use the absorb ability to redirect the energy spheres, it was cool to just use it for a second to make all my spheres go in the right direction. As for the rest, great graphics, great music and great gameplay."
"Arklight's take on the Breakout methodology of fast-paced gameplay (and lots of block breaking) shines through with its own original arcade flair. The game is very fascinating and fuses multiple game-types together; like the way maps are mixed of action, strategy, puzzle and space-shooting. All the above elements make this game stand a hair above its competitors. It's a bit like Tetris, a 3D Space Invaders, Breakout, and Pinball – and it works!"
"I loved how Arklight's levels were really distinct, not only visually but in gameplay, like the one where you have to use the ramming powerup all the time, or the one that you have to go backwards for some time!"
"To sum up the experience of Arklight, it would take four-parts puzzle interaction, three-parts strategy, two-parts action, and one-part 3D scrolling. Clockwork Pixels pulled out all the stops in this small package, which carries a lot of content. This game is very impressive, to say the least."
"Graphically Arklight looks good, right from the opening sequence. The 3D models are well designed, and the amazing stage variety and texture detail really add to the immersion of the game. The lighting effects are especially noteworthy, as they illuminate the personality of the Arklight. The centerpiece of Arklight's visual grandeur lie in the electrical effects and lighting elements used for the explosions and electrical charges!"
"The graphics are fantastic! They have a 3D feel to them. The action is fast and fun. It's can be challenging at times but you can't stop playing it. The game is part shooter and part Arkanoid gameplay. You can fire many energy balls at a time...the object isn't to bounce them back but to bring them back to you. You can collect them back by holding down the right mouse button."
